Growing up my parents gutted and rebuilt every house in which we lived, and my brothers and I were commandeered to help. We were surrounded by change, hard work, and design, all of which has helped me to better visualize getting something beautiful from scraps.
I stumbled into this business six years ago when I began helping my mom at our former location. I have found that not only do I truly enjoy “interior design”, but I am not half bad either. The challenge of making pieces work coherently, both new and existing, and then seeing the end result is very gratifying. Though not formally trained, I believe that working in this industry, and having a vast family background in the furniture business, have combined to give me an education better than could have been obtained in a school.
There are several designer choices at lulu’s, and I am by far, the edgiest, in addition to the youngest. My style is bold and unexpected, while staying timeless and functional. I think parts of the store are an excellent reflection of my style, since I am the main person who sets the vignettes, along with ordering items with my mom. I welcome a chance to speak with you and help you to have a space that will welcome you and become your favorite place to be.
Style summary: Unconventional yet timeless, minimal & edgy
Susan, firstname.lastname@example.org • Interior design should not be intimidating . It should be fun and the final result should be that which reflects your life and personality.
I have 13 years of experience working on everything from small projects to entire remodels. I have a husband, 4 children and a dog and understand the desire to have nice things which will withstand abuse. I believe acquiring classic pieces which you will enjoy a long time along with mixing in some current and fun elements.
Lulus has been a natural fit for me the last 6 years and I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to offer my clients their unique and beautiful furniture and accessories.
Kristen, email@example.com • Interior design is about creating an esthetically pleasing space that is also functional and reflective of the personality and lifestyle of those who inhabit that space. As a designer, I try to help my clients discover their personal esthetic so we can create a space that gives them beauty, comfort and function. I love to mix old and new elements anchored by timeless pieces that will last a lifetime.
I am a native of Colorado and have a husband, three children and two dogs. I recently began working as a designer for Lulus after years of bringing my clients here to furnish their homes. I love being part of this unique, creative environment!
Caitlin’s Bathroom Remodel
This 1952 ranch style home was badly in need of a bathroom makeover, and no time like the week between Christmas and New Year’s to tackle it! So how do you start a project like this?? We knew we needed storage and decided one way to do it was by shortening up the shower/bathtub and moving the toilet on the same wall as the tub. This would allow us to gain room for an actual vanity. We decided to take it down to the studs, which in hindsight perhaps added some additional work, but Ryan wanted a smooth surface for all the tile work. The tile actually set the tone for the room as we knew we wanted an interesting, yet timeless and affordable look, and we feel we found it in the oversized glass white tiles, which we laid from floor to ceiling. The contrasting dark tile floor was just what we wanted and is perfect for hiding Whistlepig’s fur.
We are 12 days into this, and now have a functioning toilet! The shower is not yet connected, but this weekend we should be completely in business. Stay tuned!
“Working with Susan was a delight! She understood the goals I had for my living and dining room and gave me clever ideas and suggestions, while keeping in mind my lifestyle and budget. I could not be happier with the results.”
“I’m hopeless with decorating. Caitlin and Chris came in and assessed my space and put together a plan. I painted, they did the rest! I LOVE the result!! Since the makeover, I’ve spent more time in this space than I have in the last five years combined!”
“I relocated from a big house in San Diego CA into a small condo in LoHi and needed to downsize all my “big” furniture to accommodate my new lifestyle. I remember the first time I met Caitlin. As advertised, she was fresh and funky – and she walked me through the entire process and made me feel very comfortable. She helped me pick out quality pieces, coordinate colors, and kept me from making bad decisions! I LOVE my new place, and I continue to use her and LuLu’s for all my home furnishing needs.”
“LuLu’s…. New to Denver…this was a great find…shopping local could not be better than at LuLu’s. Caitlin and Chris are wonderful to work with…No pressure and they listen, with cool and creative ideas and visions for the space at hand. Really fun folks that are as excited about your home as you and it shows! The pieces featured in the shop are functional as well as unique…but they offer more than just furniture which is extra special. We believe that every dollar we have spent was more than worth it and only wish we had a larger home…:-))”
